heart on wings

Had little sleep last night, mind was in a whirl, was thinking a lot about the children and Thai friends and the departure scenes kept flashing in my mind. Still crying over them, sigh. Though the trip was 10 days, it still felt like a dream. Surreal. I have so many things to write about, I guess I shall break it up into parts. Starting off with the children at the village. And I took 400 photos, including pictures of friends who liked the way I take photos haha. Should I join photography next year instead? Haha...

First glimpse of the village kids
Whacko game and it was hard to remember their names at first..

Boy, easiest name to remember
This kid caught my attention...Bang! Everyone's favourite lor (handsome) boy. They are very good in art!

Getting ready for english lessons; we taught them numbers, colours, shapes, emotions..I guess we tried our best to make them understand and follow and remember..but I think we played more with them lol
Break-time...Boy and Bang, too cute to be true
Moletek, the boy in red, the first boy whom I taught
Stickers all over...sanook sanook! (fun)
Chiyani, we call her Chai-yen-yen...love her! Because she has dimples like me haha..Suwani is cute too =)
Morobok! Haha..
Morning assembly

Sports Day! And playing with the kids
Football caught in the moment...their main entertainment, other than that, it's playing with one another and a whole group of them were surrounding one of us's PSP, playing together...
Costume dress-up during Sports Day
Skipping in the classroom
Musical Chairs for Sports Day
Playing around; peace, joy, laughter
Cuddling during campfire
Naraak mak mak! (very cute)
Break-dancer who likes to want to fiddle with my camera
2nd last day shots

A simple piggy-back will already make their day
Balloons and arm-wrestling
Hugs and more hugs...a universal language
Brotherhood, like family
Bang! Loads of photos of him...and the last day where he finally willingly hugged me, I couldn't resist crying

Moletek, brave heart, who fell down and had a huge cut on the side of his forehead and deep cuts
on his nose and leg but didn't even panick and cry [and no harm was done while he posed with the scissors] It's us who panicked instead of the kids when they got injured...
Piao, whose tight hug I can always remember and she tied my hair like that!
A photo with so much meaning
Nong-nong (little brother/sister), they always like to fiddle with our cameras

The last day of teaching english and playing with them

The last day where every kid in the village witnessed our luggages being heaved into the local transport and they knew we're leaving, the older ones were crying when they saw us cry, the young ones were confused when they saw us cry. Walked into the crowd in search of a familiar face, and I saw Bang. Hugged him on the 2nd last day but he didn't hug back...on the last day, he hugged back, because he knew.
Bless them, Angels. Learnt a lot from them, instead of the other way round. Initially was homesick the first day at the village but after being with them, I found strength in them. May they be happy always and a bright future ahead of them. Bless them, Angels.
A poem, Nong-Nong, dedicated to the kids, albeit hasty and simple (constructed just before the sharing session)
Nong-Nong, Nong-Nong,
Running with abandon
Carefree and happy
In their own simplicity

Nong-Nong, Nong-Nong,
Like rusted rocks on the beach
Yet to be polished
Scabs and scars
On their hands and feet
Yet what really matters
Is a big smile on their face

Nong-Nong, Nong-Nong,
To me
Your smiles are like diamonds
In my mind's eye.

6:23 PM;

be with myself

cappucino on a rainy day,
snuggles in the warmth of blankets,
hot food in the arms of hunger,
huge umbrella of a stranger,
embraces in the rain,
smiles amidst frowns,
triumphs and singing of the heart

in center

Raindrops like candlewax
Drowning in a
Solid sculpture, you Burning and cold.

Baking skills
Yoga/Electone lessons

*HUGS* TOTAL! *HUGGIES* snuggles & cuddles
