heart on wings

Okay, so I didn't keep my promise. Okay, okay, okay. I'm so going into a real, official hiatus - a break from blogging right until after the grand End-Of-Year examinations end, after this last(i promise) entry.

I've received the timetable and look how I gazed at it and loved it. Loved it, so so much. Yeah right. But anyway; Come what come may, time and the hour runs through the roughest day. I just know that I will be able to survive, knowing how I survived the Mid-Year examinations and all. But it's tough to endure the mind-killing pain in my brain that's torturing me now, and it's just the first week of a mad rush of revision of 10 subjects- English, Chinese, E Maths, A Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, History, Social Studies and Literature. But I know that I'll be able to survive. I'll endure the headache, I'll grit my teeth and full blast ahead on those piles of books and files! I know I'm going to do it.

This term has been a myriad of emotions flowing. Happiness, for I've improved in almost all subjects for Common Test. Anxiety, for I'm anxious for my final sprint, the grand exam. Sadness, confusement, helplessness, hopefulness, and many more emotions overwhelm me. But I know I'm going to pull through it all. Everything will turn out to be alright.

As a torn yellow leaf twirls into the sky,
Happiness and sadness both engulfs it before it dies.
The yellow leaf still speaks of wistful longing,
Like a shadow that will never leave.

The dreaded days have come back to haunt me and terrify me with the thoughts of the End-Of-Year examinations arriving shortly just after our tiny miserable break from tons of books and notes.

So this blog is going to be on a looonng hiatus since the End-Of-Year examinations are just round the corner and imagine how I'm supposed to memorize every single thing from Page 1. And, the books now are like SO THICK. Wish me luck, dear readers. =)

The hiatus will end officially somewhere near mid October, I guess. I know you gonna miss me badly. =))

Just a friend
That's all I've ever been to you
Oh, just a girl
Who wants to be the center of your world
But I ain't got much to offer but my heart and soul
And I guess that's not enough for you to notice me
I'm just a girl
And I guess that's all I'll ever be to you
To you, you

I try to smile when I see other girls with you
Acting like everything is okay
But, oh
You don't know how it feels to be so in love
With someone who doesn't even know
My secret love.

WARNING: This may be too long a post for you, but it's definitely worth it. =)

Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to me,
Happy birthday to meeee,
Happy birthday to me!

Wow. Today's really a good day in disguise.
First off, in the morning, I woke up in a grumpy mood, because my father forgot to buy breakfast for me and disturbed me by using the computer so noisily in the wee hours of the morning, like 5am. So I went to school for guitar practice in a really lousy mood, BUT. The lousy mood soon faded. A few steps to the school's atrium and I saw Suzie and Ting waving at me. I was like "Huh?" and didn't know what is about to happen. Then, Suzie behaved weirdly and was holding something. He kept on laughing and saying, "Here's your birthday present, Haha." Something like that. Then Ting was smiling away. The two of them really chased the lousy mood away. You know, I lurve surprises like that. Even little tiny surprises amuse me. When Suzie gave me the present, I was like, "LOL. SUZIE!!" and I kept on laughing and smiling. Then Ting was like, "Hey, I have a present for you too!". Haha, I really appreciate the cute presents. =) Thank you, once again.

Paranoia then hit me when I wanted to on my handphone. I searched and searched for my handphone during guitar practice, and couldn't find my handphone! Damn, I must be so lucky today, I thought. You know, I was dead worried for the whole morning and till mid afternoon too! All the while I was fretting and missing my phone. Ting reassured me and all, that my handphone is at home. Finally, after a few gruelling hours of anxiety, the truth came to light. My parents and my brother went to attend a church wedding (my father's cousin's) and went home to find my handphone. Indeed, my handphone is freaking safe in my desk. LOL! Must have been the morning rush that made me lose track of what I was doing in a hurry. I've never attended a church wedding before, and I wanna attend one on my birthday! Lol. Today's the bridegroom's birthday; it's so cool to be married on your birthday. Haha.

After guitar practice, came literature lesson. You know, my classmates for literature are like so sweet. They sang a Happy Birthday song for me, and I was both surprised(in a good way) and bashful. Haha. I finally got to go home after literature lesson. Oh well, but only for a short while to rest at home before I spend another hour and a half for tuition. But soon after tuition ended, I was dressed to go out and have a family night dinner. I suggested going to Sakae Sushi for dinner, since my father and brother want to try Japanese food and my mother has never been to Sakae Sushi before. Lol. So my family was dressed and had really an awesome time together at Sakae Sushi.

And you know what, we sat at the exact same place as I had sat with part of the Kukumalus during Fiona's belated birthday celebration! What a great coincidence.

My mother and I! Twistie twist! Hey, although I'm 15 now, it's not my fault that I followed my mom's pose for this photo! =)

This is my eager brother waiting to have a great feast. =)

The happy princess looking forward to a great birthday celebration. =)

My mom in action! Haha.

Me in action too! Only more demure than my mom. Haha.

Cute pose my brother wanted to do for the camera.

So I followed my brother's cute pose and got this result. Lol.

Piggy brother in action!

"Demure" Me in action! Lol.

A bit looney after the crazy feast. =)

After the Sakae Sushi feast, my father wanted to go shopping(what? did I hear correctly?) so we accompanied him to buy a pair of shoes. God, he takes longer than me to choose a pair of shoes! Like after a light year, finally, he bought his ideal pair. Then we went home, and I was feeling eager to cut my birthday cake.

Admire the lovely tantalizing mango ice-cream cake. =))

It looks gorgeous enough when it's lighted. Can I gaze at it forever? Lol.

Teehee, gaze at me, not at the cake. =)
This is the first time I'm celebrating my birthday in this house. =))

My mom and I! Yay, I'm so happy.

My brother and I! Double twists!
My father was busy videotaping the whole birthday scene and he was topless, so no pictures of me and my father. Lol.

Ignore the crazy birthday girl. Lol.

You know why I'm clapping so happily? It's because my whole family is singing Happy Birthday to me. So happy! =))

I wish; I wish; and I wish...for all my wishes to come true. =)))

Blow, blow, BLOW! I blew all my candles in one big breath. =)))

Hands ON the CAKE. =)

Oh no, this has no fats and calories. Lol.

Okay. I ate like 3 slices of the cake. The cake's really nice, I swear. Just imagine a fresh sweet mango covered with whipped cream and ice. =)

Today is a memorable birthday. I'm so happy today.
Pity good things don't last, but I'm still happy.

And a big THANK-YOU to those who remembered my birthday and gave me presents and birthday greetings. You know who you are, because if I list every single one of you, I swear this post will FLOOD the blog. Lol.

Lalala. This girl's 15 now. A big princess now. =))

Thursday
Actually, Cindy, Xiao Ting, Amelin wanted to celebrate Nithiya's belated birthday and my upcoming birthday. But then, I was so not happy that day. The whole trip was delayed for a whole half hour and my family camera spoiled. That day, we went to Marina Square again, and went to K-box for lunch. The five of us hogged the mic and sang chinese and english songs. Ironically, the whole singing thing was not as enjoyable as it should be, and the lunch they provided was not ideal. While taking photos, suddenly the camera's card freaked out and was spoilt. I cried and I cried, because I knew I would get a severe scolding from my parents. The camera thing totally ruined my day. I was sad and did not really talk for the whole day. There goes my 'celebration'. Bought only a wallet. Sigh.

Today
Just went out with my mom and brother for lunch. After lunch, my mom and I did a little shopping at Isetan. I bought like only a belt and a pair of earrings and a necklace? But it's better than nothing. I'm totally not looking forward to tomorrow, which ironically is my birthday. Birthdays happen only once a year and I'm like not looking forward to it? First time in my life, I swear. When I was young, I was always excited about 9 September and I was always feeling so happy and over the moon. I got things done my way on my special day and I felt so much like a little princess. Growing up, I still got things done my way and always felt happy whenever 9 September rolls around. Until this year, this weird and bittersweet year, I'm not looking forward to tomorrow. I feel so tired whenever I picture myself, the birthday girl, going to school early in the morning tomorrow for guitar practice and staying in school until mid-afternoon for literature lesson and going to A Maths tuition from late-afternoon till 7pm. Yawn, it's going to be a tired and boring day. And I don't think I'll have time for a good and memorable birthday celebration tomorrow. Boo, there goes my wish.

But still, it ain't gonna stop me from wishing and wishing and wishing...
I wish to have a nice birthday tomorrow.

P.S. This is a tagged thing I have to do.

{Wednesday, September 06, 2006}

I remembered the day straight after the last Common Test paper, everyone was like SO looking forward to the holidays. So much so that Samuel said, "I wanna go ice-skating!" Which led me to this fantabulous idea that everyone who is interested in ice-skating go. "Who wanna go?" Then those who wanna go raised up their hands...

So in the end...the plan worked perfectly and we went ice-skating today! Haha. =)

WARNING: Expect many many pictures that would flood this post! Muahahahaha.

"Memories are short-lived; only photos last forever."
Now I finally understand why photographers are a must for every event in our lives.
So this is the all-too-familiar ice-skating rink. This is the 4th time I'm seeing it.

And this is the all-too-familiar signboard. How I wished I'm able to skate like the little cute figure on the signboard. You know, ice-skating is such a graceful thing.

This is a photo of my darling classmates, taken like after a few rounds of us struggling on the rink and holding onto one another and freaking out and screaming and having lots of crazy groupie fun. I'm the photographer, so I'm not inside. =)

I feel so honoured to teach Wan Teng and Samuel how to ice-skate. I actually taught them, you know. And just the previous trip, I was being taught by how to ice-skate and I was the one being held on whenever I felt like falling. I made a GREAT IMPROVEMENT!!! Lol. And the greatest improvement of all, I didn't fall today! Yay, unlike my darling friends, who fell like countless times! Muahaha. Daphne, is a fast-learner. I think she was taught by Xiao Ting. Lol. Then Fiona and Jie Ling were like two irreseparable twins, who held hands whenever they moved on the rink. Haha. Because they were afraid of falling and all. Lol.

Amidst the screaming and freaking out whenever my darling friends wanted to fall as I held their hands, it was very funny and enjoyable. Lol, like I would shriek a high-pitched scream and my falling friend would not fall. LOL. After an hour or two, the falling friends became a bit better in their skating (because of my teaching! lol) and everyone held hands with one another (we alternated between skating partners) and WHIZZED on the ice. Amelin likes to hold my hand the awkward way and skate fast fast. I'm not really used to skating fast; I still have the teeny bit of me that is quite scared of falling. She claims that she is better than me, like WHATEVER. =) Thankfully Xiao Ting didn't show off her skating skills and attempt to skate backwards. Haha.

Actually, a few times, I nearly fell(you know like in the movies, they would really slow down time and you can see the way the person falls) but was always saved by my shrieking and grabbing my falling friend and most of all, saved by grabbing those little boys' poles and their arms. Oh man, I think I almost gripped a boy's shoulder a little too hard when I nearly fell when skating with my falling friend. Lol. See, they are my little angels. =)

After like almost 3 hours of ice-skating, we decided to take a little break, which happened to be our "cam-whoring" time. Lol.

Xiao Ting and Me: Yeah baby, we're Charlie's Angels.
Daphne: Yeah right...then what am I?

Xiao Ting and Me: Alright, alright, we let you be one of Charlie's Angel too.
Daphne: Teehee.

Daphne: Look, I have red-hot-chilli-pepper gloved hands.
Me: Haha, I have normal hands.
Xiao Ting: Then what about me?

Me: Look, now I have deliciously-sweet-pink gloved hands.
Daphne: Then I have RED-HOT-CHILLI-PEPER gloved hands.

Me: Smile people, SMILE!
Amelin: Teehee.
Wan Teng: Eh, hehe.

Xiao Ting: Look at me baby, I'm as hot as my hot-pink sweater!
Me: Don't make me laugh!
Amelin: I'm trying hard to smile instead of laugh.

Daphne: I'm going to shout soon, AAHH!
Xiao Ting: My precious eardrums!
Amelin: Haha, my lucky eardrums.
Samuel: Huh? What is going on?

Me: Learn to smile like me, peeps!
Wan Teng: Oh yeah?
Samuel: Teach me how.

Me: Eh, ok, Photographer Daphne, I twist.
Fiona: This is so lame, I twist.
Jie Ling: Kuku! I twist.

Daphne: Let's do the Charlie's Angels!
Jie Ling: Daphne is so kuku!
Fiona: Haha.

Me: I smile.
Amelin: I also smile.

Amelin: I do the pinky twist!
Me: One of those twists again!

Xiao Ting: I'm tired of smiling.
Amelin: I smile better!

Me: What, Charlie's Angels pose again?
Xiao Ting: Yeah baby!

Applaud, for you have come to the end of photo viewing. =))

P.S. The photo captions are just mindless figurings of what the people in the photos are trying to say, by me. Lol.

Yeah, that's about it. I lurve ice-skating. And my darling friends.
With much love, looking forward to tomorrow. =)))

{Monday, September 04, 2006}

HEY HEY HEY!
I'm back from Marina Square, like finally.
I went out this morning at 9 plus and came home at 7 plus.
Kinda homesick, but kinda Marina-Square-sick too. =)
I've never been to Marina Square my entire life (yeah yeah, I'm a country bumpkin) , and I've never been so amazed by a shopping mall before. It's so spaciously huge and modernly classy!
And guess why I went there?

To see Kwon Sang Woo, of course! Me and Cindy went only, but nevertheless, it was a fun and engaging day with Cindy. =)

We were so excited that we started to take photos of The Face Shop way before he arrived. Lol.

It was 11am when we reached there. Kwon Sang Woo was supposedly to be there at 12-1pm. So we snapped photos of the not-really-crowded scene around The Face Shop to kill time. Look, those are some security guards.

Yeah, we were considered early and we were like standing in the first row. Haha. This is a big poster of him outside The Face Shop, just a few metres away from where we were standing.

And these are the crazy fans. Our breed. Haha.

The lion dance came too. To welcome him. Lol.

The fans are like packed sardines now. We were like squashed. Real squashed. For like 2 hours.

This is the poster boy, Kwon Sang Woo.

And look carefully, at the man in WHITE, and that is KWON SANG WOO. Yeah, this is the clearest shot I could get of him, although we were standing in the first row. It was like he's afraid to go out and stand in the center to welcome his fans. Maybe he's afraid of molest, lol. He looks like an angel, really. The fair and flawless complexion, the white and impeccable suit, STUNNING. When he walked in, everyone was SCREAMING. FREAKING. And many many bodyguards and security guards. We finally saw him after standing for more than two hours and went insane, although he came and talked in his deep and husky voice for five minutes and had to leave. Lol. Typical star.

This is the overzealous and excited us after seeing HIM. Lol. Eh, I don't really know how to merge the two photos together so that it will be a perfect photo of Cindy and I. Lol.

Tada! I know it's weird, because I only spent like 5 minutes anyhow fixing. Lol.

Having our lunch at Pizza Hut. The ambience there is so much better than Tampines Mall's.

Haha, I'm crazy over taking photographic pictures. I know you're drooling now, teehee.

And after lunch, we went to watch the movie, The Devil Wears Prada. We bought popcorns and enjoyed the show which transported us from normal timezone to the Posh & Classy timezone. We were like oggling over the timeless creative and beautiful clothings worn by the people in the movie. The movie was nice and the moral of the story is : "Friends and family are more worthwhile than High-class Glamour." Although I know everyone wants to wear fabulous clothes and look like a Supermodel.

And boo! We're transported back to the real world.

After the movie, it was already like 6 plus to 7. We were like so kuku and could not find our way through Marina Square to the Mrt Station as the mall is so BIG. Really. But we did eventually. Lol.

And...Home Sweet Home. But, I'm still crazy over KWON SANG WOO. I know Cindy still is, and will have the same facial expression as me when she goes home. Right, Cindy?

Had a fabulous time with you, my darling SHOPPING PARTNER. =)

P.S. Sorry if this post is too brief, my mind is fraught with images of Angelic KWON SANG WOO.
